F*ck Walmart
No. 2 on the build list was a board i dubbed as the ECO twinzer. a short board that could go fast on a small mushy day would need volume and minimum rocker. I managed to make some huge improvements on this board compared to the delaminated (still rideable + fun) dinner table.
Through the process of making those mistakes on the first one this board went hard... well the dinner table ended up being more of a soft top because the resin didn't bind to the foam. I realized that I had worked the Styrofoam too hard then proceeded to add a thin layer of spackling (plasterboard spackle) which was meant to seal the foam. I also tried to add a load of expanding foam on the deck, thinking it would give me a harder surface, but it certainly added to the binding problem.
This one saw the benefits of those mistakes. It showed me how mistakes are key in life.
I also planned to get more color into this board and set a theme. during covid, many small independent businesses had to shut their doors for good. I kind of saw it as a harsh reality of capitalism as all the larger operations flourished on monopolizing wiping out all the small guys. So I wanted this board to be a wee statement. I went with Walmart colors, wrote fuck Walmart down the stringer.
This was a wicked project because I had a young lad following me on Instagram who showed some interested in riding it. So after i had it finished i organized to meet up with him to see what he thought. he sure did rip on it! see pictures below as proof. this day the waves where only 2-3 foot and Lucas was able to pick up speed and do some turns. there is a video on my youtube channel of lucas riding this thing.
