A family of artisans!

It brings me soo much joy that i was able to give my sister a start in her ceramic journey and now to see her progress is amazing. Today was her first market selling her mugs.

Last year my mum, sister and brother in law came to visit us in Nova Scotia, while i planned to get all of them on the wheel, we happen to have more time in our apartment than anticipated as we all caught a cold which i think mum brought along with her.

Holly really picked up the pottery wheel quickly, and i could tell she was going to get really into this craft. Once she returned back to the UK she found her a local community studio called Cup Ceramics. While i was back vsiting i managed to get some wheel time with my sister at Cup Ceramics (super cool spot), I was enjoying this space it really dawned on me that maybe running a community studio would a cool business, Somewhere for locals to gather not only to create but also socialise and be part of a community.

Now Holly has her mugs stocked in a cafe and pulling off a mini craft show, and thats all started from having a spin in Mineville. Here is her practice set up at home last night before the market. Today she went and sold 19 pieces! Really goes to show that it doesn't need to take long to reap the benefits of learning a craft whether it be pottery or web design, just going and doing and being consistant can really pay off. Well done holly, keep it up!
