Bring on the markets!

Well this is an exciting blog post to be writing, ive been working hard these past couple weeks making as much pottery as I can, I've been documenting my hours and its been coming in at around 50 hours per week in production time. So its time to put some time into selling my work, this is where I become a novice again. I've only ever sold things online through eBay to Facebook market place, never at a stool standing behind my own work. so its going to be a learning curve that's for sure. Although I'm super proud of what i've been creating these past couple of weeks, I just hope the glazing goes to plan.

My first public appearance will be on the 26th October. where my mugs will be featured in an event called sit and sip. Invited are a bunch of potters to put up to 10 mugs and customers can purchase your mug and then use it that evening tasting beer. pretty cool event and gives me an opportunity to get my name out there. I don't actually have to do be there, I just drop off my itinerary and mugs but can hang around for the event.

My plan is to start doing a couple of market stalls per week. Starting with Halifax brewery market, its a market located in the old Keiths brewing facility in Halifax which is a super cool old brick building right on the water front, I've attended the event a couple of times and feel like the shit shed shaper could fit in nicely to this market. I'm filling out a application for as we speak so ill update when things get confirmed.
