leading on from my previous blog post id like to be as transparent as i can about my situation because its confusing and frustrating but i've found a huge benefit from writing this stuff down. Im doing a whole lot more journalling these days, staying away from social media as much as i can and working on my health. i know now very clearly the things that fill me up and the things that drain me, so im trying to stay focused on those that bring me joy.
I was refused permanent residency in February on the grounds of not having enough points to be entered into the pool, so i basically failed at the first hurdle of the application. This is where you create a profile and then they score you based on your age, education, job , language and so on. Well i stated i had 2 years work experience in Canada when really i only had 1 year and 9 months, resulting in a refusal of express entry. So my next move was to contact the company ive been working for called Techtronic Machine Works who are now in the process of being accredited AIP (Atlantic Immigration Program) which enables them to employ immigrants and bring them over on a temporary work permit while filing for PR. i've been in contact with a lovely lady i haven't actually met yet called Darlene, she's been my night in shining armour! she has already given me a rough outline with how long this may take to issue me a work permit so i'm expecting it to be back in NS from august. i know Darlene's a chocolate sort of gal so i know what im bringing her!!
Over the last last year i've picked up music production and have started to make some weird electronic music. Im really enjoying the process of music production. In ways it relates to pottery, at the beginning it's a blank canvas with not much of a plan and at the end you'r taken back by whats possible. It has been a creative outlet while i'm without a pottery wheel, i really can get lost (flow state) while playing around with sounds. Im using a software called Ableton, i was really lucky to get a tutorial from a Halifax based artist Alex. He was so kind to run me through how he goes about making a track, you can find him on Spotify as Cloverdale. since then i've been relying on youtube and another close mate Sam who's is making some amazing DnB. Ive linked one of my latest songs, i know this type of music isn't for everybody but i guess thats the joy of music! theres literally soo many possibilities!
In other news my mum is making a move down to where my sister is living, a place called malvern. Its actually a really cute small town, with these amazing walks from her place. My sisters just adopted a little boy so its going to be amazing to spend more time with them. Im going to stay in Preston with my mate Sam for a month before i make the move so that i can save up a bit more money to buy a pottery wheel. So lots of exciting stuff to come! stay tuned!
