I recently had to write a biography for an event that my mugs were featured in, it's a small event where they put out 10 mugs from different potters onto shelves and customers can buy and use that mug to drink beer from. 17 potters including my girlfriend liv!!! Pretty cool event that I'm super stoked to get asked to display my mugs!!! well, they requested a bio, and I thought this could be a good opportunity for me to get down anyway! because its been a wild ride so far and so stoked to be making ceramics!!!
well here's the bio I came up with, with a big cheesy grin.

A series of fortunate events started when I met my girlfriend, Liv, in New Zealand while traveling. I soon decided to change my travel plans to come to Nova Scotia.
Coming from England, me and my mum used to sit down once a week to watch 'The Great British Pottery Throw Down' which implanted a desire to learn the wheel. When I landed in Nova Scotia a virus had started to shut down the world and slowed things right down. This is when I started to craft surfboards in an old shed in the garden of my girlfriend's parents home. Shawn, Liv's dad, had a lot of polystyrene blocks laying around that he intended to use for insulation; I had mentioned my desire to build a surfboard and he gave me the motivation to start the project and a space to create it. This is where The Shit Shed Shaper was born.
Meeting Liv's grandmother Karen who is a potter and had a studio in her home was a pivotal moment. Karen gave us a run through on the wheel and let us have some time to figure it out. While me and Liv traveled west we took a 10 week pottery course in Banff which honed in some skills.
I have been pottering about for 4 years now and love the craft, I really enjoy making mugs the most but have recently started diving into tea pots and vases. If you're interested check out my website.
